With the rapid tightening of global regulations on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), the development of reliable analytical methods for industrial matrices has become increasingly important. This study established an optimized analytical method for the determination of 35 PFAS compounds in textile and plastic matrices and evaluated its analytical reliability through international proficiency testing. Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) with dynamic Multiple Reaction Monitoring (dMRM) was optimized using calibration curves over a range of 0.1–50 ppb (μg/kg) with 1/x weighted regression. For plastic matrices, ultrasonic solvent extraction and NaOH-assisted hydrolysis were compared, while textile samples were pretreated by methanol-based NaOH-assisted hydrolysis following EN 17681-1:2025. Method performance was validated through international proficiency testing programs (DRRR for plastics and IIS for textiles), with absolute Z-scores within ±2 for all target PFAS compounds. In plastic matrices, hydrolysis-based pre-treatment showed higher extraction efficiency than solvent extraction, indicating improved recovery of polymer-bound PFAS. The optimized method demonstrated reliable analytical performance across different industrial matrices and provides a practical framework for PFAS determination and regulatory compliance in textiles, plastics, and electrical/electronic materials. |
