A reliable and efficient gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS) method was developed for the simultaneous analysis of 19 organic solvents and additives widely used in lithium-ion battery (LIB) electrolytes. The analysis was performed using the Shimadzu Nexis GC-2030 coupled with a QP2020 NX single quadrupole mass spectrometer, operating in selected ion monitoring (SIM) mode to ensure sensitivity and selectivity. The 19 target compounds were selected based on their common use as base solvents or functional additives in LIB electrolytes. All target compounds showed excellent linearity over the concentration range (0.1 to 10 µg/mL), with correlation coefficients (R²) greater than 0.999. The developed analytical method was successfully applied to an actual LIB electrolyte sample, confirming the presence and quantifying the concentrations of several target compounds. The proposed GC-MS method significantly improves analytical efficiency and reliability in evaluating organic components in battery electrolytes. |
